Middlesex Netball
At this time of year the Middlesex Netball tournaments are well under way.
We had the privilege of hosting one of the first rounds for the older age groups again this year. At the beginning of November the Year 11 team arrived for their tournament on a rather dull Saturday morning, only for the heavens to open and the tournament to be cancelled at 9.10am! The following Saturday 21st November the Year 10 team took part in their tournament finishing in 3rd place and narrowly missing out on a place in the finals.
The rearranged Year 11 tournament took place on Tuesday 26th January at the North London Collegiate School. There was no rain to contend with this time, but the freezing conditions kept us all on our toes. The Highlands team, led by captain Nicole Hobbs, started brightly with a 7-5 win over Godolphin & Latymer. They then went on to beat Islamia, The City of London Girls School, The North London Collegiate school and St Pauls to go through to the finals on Saturday 13th March as winners of their group. The girls played some outstanding Netball and their place in the finals is well deserved.
