Move It dance trip

Move It dance trip
On Friday 20th March, the year 11 and year 12 dance students went to London’s ExCeL Centre for the world’s biggest dance exhibition. Whilst at the exhibition, they were able to take part in workshops led by world-class dance educators and providers such as Performers College, Addicts Dance Academy, OHC, Wilkes Academy and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (AMDA). A level students were also given the opportunity to work with the UK’s oldest contemporary dance company, Rambert, which they study in year 12 and year 13 for their A level exam.
Highlands students took part in a range of workshops across genres including hip hop, jazz and contemporary. They also watched performances by leading musical theatre providers such as Bird College, gaining valuable insight into further study opportunities.
I am extremely proud of how well the Highlands students performed in the classes, demonstrating excellent fitness, agility and stage presence.
Highlands School would like to thank the Jack Petchey Foundation for sponsoring this trip, covering 70% of the costs and enabling all students to access this event. You can watch highlights of the trip here.
