Homework

Subject:

KS4 GCSE AQA Food preparation and nutrition

Homework task:

  • In the first year following theory lessons, there will be homework consisting of buying practical ingredients, design ideas and Seneca assignments and exam practice questions. If students miss a lesson, they will be expected to catch up on the work missed.

  • In year two, students will be set assignments to complete which count towards 50% of their GCSE, NEA (non-examined assessment).  This must be completed on the assigned set of slides.

  • Additional homework will be to complete worksheets and Seneca assignments.

Resources:

  • Lessons are delivered using slide presentations, which are shared on Google Classroom after each lesson or on a weekly basis. These slides include instructions, examples, and videos or modelling.

  • In addition, all students have access to the textbook login for use at home.

Frequency:

Once or twice a week, depending on lesson and task set.

Support:

We offer after-school intervention sessions.

Additional information:

Students are given individual feedback on homework and practical development. In addition to homework set by teachers, students should engage in their own independent work outside of lesson. This could include developing practical skills or revision and exam practice.
