  • Matt Miller MBE

    Chair of Governors

    I am privileged to be the Chair of Governors of Highlands School, a position I have held for 16 years, having been involved as a Governor from the very first days when the school opened in 2000.

    Headteacher

    I have been the headteacher of the school since September 2018 and, in that capacity, am a full member of the governing body.

    I have been a governor at Highlands school since the school formed.

    Parent Governor

    I began my governance journey as a parent-governor with two children who attended Highlands and am now a co-opted governor.

    Co-opted Governor

    I am a co-opted governor. I have lived in Winchmore Hill for around 50 years.

    LEA Governor

    I have been an LEA Governor since just about the time Highlands opened.

  • Amani Simpson

    Co-opted Governor

    It's an honour to be a governor at Highlands school, as this is where my younger sister, friends and cousins have attended as students.

    I am an Enfield resident, with children attending Highlands School. I have been fortunate enough to join the already highly skilled governing body at Highlands.

    I’m a parent governor and my two children currently attend Highlands. I have a degree in Applied Biology, and I currently work in the pharmaceutical sector in a senior leadership role.

    I am a university lecturer in English language, with experience of education both in Britain and abroad.

    I have been a parent governor at Highlands for over a decade, since my elder daughter started at Highlands.

    I have been working at Highlands since 2018 as a Communication Support Worker in our Deaf Resource Base.
