High Achievers Evening 2025

High Achievers Evening 2025

Highlands School proudly hosted the annual High Achievers Evening on Thursday 20th November, organised by Enfield Council, to celebrate students with exceptional GCSE results.

The event was attended by families, school staff, and education representatives, including the Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Margaret Greer, who presented certificates to high-achieving students. Special STEM awards were presented by Linda Van Keimpema from Imperial College London.

The evening featured inspiring talks from alumni: Rishan Patel, a UCL researcher developing Brain-Computer Interfaces to help people with severe movement conditions, and Tia El-Ahmadi, a Highlands alumna and BlackRock Apprentice, nationally recognised for her achievements and for inspiring young people across the UK.

Head students Elena and Luke expertly compered the ceremony. Students also attended workshops delivered by university ambassadors from Cambridge, Oxford, QMUL, Imperial College London and the University of Law, while parents participated in a panel Q&A chaired by Mr McInerney.

The evening concluded with a Careers and Progression Market, giving students and families the opportunity to meet representatives from universities and employers, including Warburtons, Brownes, and Morgan Sindall, to explore higher education and career pathways.

A huge thank you to Theresa Watts for allowing us to host the event, Chartwells for the catering, the site staff team, university ambassadors and all attending employers for helping make the evening such a success. High Achievers Evening remains a highlight of the school calendar, celebrating talent, ambition, and achievement across Enfield.
