UK Economics Olympiad

UK Economics Olympiad
Two of our exceptional year 12 economics students, Francisco and Hamza demonstrated outstanding performance in the initial round of the UK Economics Olympiad. They qualified for the regional round after placing within the top 25% of all participants.
The regional competition took place at SOAS University in Central London, where the students spent the day completing two rigorous and challenging assessments designed to test their economic knowledge.
Beyond the competition, the students enjoyed an invaluable opportunity to explore the world of university economics. They learned about the courses available and gained valuable insights into what studying the subject at a higher level is truly like. A particular highlight was a taster lecture delivered by Dr Fernando Rugitsky on the Economics of the Environment. He explained complex concepts, drawing mainly on the research of Nobel laureate economist Nordhaus. Overall, the day was a fantastic experience of academic enrichment for both students
