Homework task:

  • Homework tasks are multiple choice Google form quizzes.

  • There are usually between 10 and 20 questions.

  • Questions may include videos and/or sound links.

  • Questions may include music theory signs and symbols.

  • Questions will be linked to the current topic.

  • Questions may retrieve information from previous topics.

Resources:

  • Google slides from class lessons.

  • A pdf scan of the student work booklet. 

  • A revision document for mid and end of year tests.

  • All homework will be issued via Google Classroom.

Frequency:

Every 2-3 lessons.

Support:

  • Glossary of words and terms are in the student booklet which is in Google Classroom.

  • An overview of the topic and word bank is present in the student work booklet which is in Google Classroom.

  • Students can attend homework club to complete tasks if they have complications with computers or chromebooks.

  • Students can see Mrs Miller on Mondays after school if they need support.

Additional information:

Students are given achievement points for high scores in their homework tasks.

Homework task:

  • Homework tasks include Google form homework with a variety of questions linked to the current topic/unit of work.

  • Questions will usually include links to music tracks.

  • All questions have detailed answers to refer to.

  • Some homework tasks are performance tasks. Students need to upload recordings and copies of sheet music.

  • Some homework may include attending after-school interventions to complete composition coursework.

Resources:

  • Google Slides from class lessons.

  • Worksheets.

  • Anthology of music book (students will need to purchase this).

  • Copies of annotated scores.

  • Audio mp3 recordings.

Frequency:

Once each week.

Support:

Glossary of words and terms have been provided.

Intervention sessions available every Monday after school 3:15pm - 4:15pm.

Additional information:

Students are given achievement points for high scores in their homework tasks.

Students are given printed individual feedback for performance and composition coursework tasks.
