Creative Media
Curriculum intent:
- The department's curriculum intent is ambitious as well as realistic for future opportunities within the creative media industries as the school is ideally placed within a few miles of major development of new film studios.
- The media department covers theoretical frameworks as well as practical units which reflect similar work practices that are required within the creative media industries.
- The curriculum covers both KS4 and KS5 and many students who study a KS4 will go on to study the subject at KS5. Knowledge from KS4 builds on the learner’s knowledge for KS5. For example; first year KS5 units include pre-production, film genre, television advertising, media representation and language, all of which have been studied at KS4. However, if a learner studies creative media for the first time at KS5 then the key concepts are reintroduced and reinforced for all KS5 learners.

A Level: Pearsons BTEC National Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production.
