Drama

Curriculum intent:

Our aim is for students to emerge at the end of their Drama education as well-rounded, knowledgeable performers who are reflective of their work and have the ability to impress when creating dramatic work, and evaluating performance.

In Drama, students work as performers to refine their 5 key skills of: voice, body language, facial expressions, gestures and movement, as well as working on their ability to respond to, analyse and evaluate professional works and performances to explore the effect of not only acting skills but also the technical side of theatre; set, sound, lighting and costume.

The Key Stage 3 curriculum is a unique balance of practitioner, era and script based theatre and performance that is individual to students who study at Highlands School.
