Governors' biographies

Ian Lebeau

Co-opted Governor

I am a university lecturer in English language, with experience of education both in Britain and abroad.

Most of my present work involves teaching international students, who come to the UK from a wide variety of countries. I have also written a number of English language textbooks. I was previously Chair of Governors at a local primary school.

My son was a student at Highlands from 2010 to 2017 – a very positive experience for him. I joined the Governing Body in 2012 and was a parent governor until 2016. I am a longstanding member of the Curriculum and Standards Committee, and was involved in the working group that helped establish the school values.

My aim is to help Highlands maintain its excellence and make further improvements in the future, and I hope that my background will allow me to make a particular contribution in the areas of language, literacy and curriculum development.
